Better than your local Smoothie King

I go back and forth between eating similar to a yoga enthusiast to like a kid in a candy shop. I love food..a lot:) and as much as I would love to eat healthy 24/7, I just can’t imagine robbing myself of the joy so many unhealthy foods give me. But I also want to fill my body with rich nutrients and maintain a healthy lifestyle. So with that being said, I’ve found that eating, for me, is all about balance and portion

I found out three years ago that I was allergic to dairy... which is in EVERYTHING. Thankfully I’m not crazy allergic soooo I still cheat and have it sometimes (and my friends kill me every time I do), but this protein mix recipe is simple: soy free, dairy free and whey free.

The mix consist of:
  1. Mix three cups ground flax seeds
  2. Two cups ground flower seed
  3. 1 cup ground raw almonds
  4. Mix all together and keep refrigerated  

I love this as my source of protein because I know I physically made it and know exactly what’s in it. Raw, natural ingredients.

Next is my go to smoothie combo! I love these right after I work out or when I want something light and refreshing.

Ingredients:

Frozen mixed berries 

Half a banana 

Almond butter

Spinach 

Almond milk

Protein Mix 

Squirt of all natural Honey

 

Then I normally top my smoothie with vanilla granola and coconut shavings!
